I like to start small group Bible studies (Jr & Sr High Guys) with "unusual" ice-breaker questions. (Some of these were found on the internet.) Each is followed with "and why?" Here's a sample:
- If you had to sit in hot tub full of any food, what would it be?
- What's the grossest thing you've ever seen?
- If you could thrown anything (non-human/non-animal) into a huge wood-chipper, what would it be? (Great scene from Malcolm in the Middle sparked this one.)
- Describe the perfect snack food.
- If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- What two animals would you combine to engineer a new animal? What would it be called?
- If you had to live for year in a place you'd never been, where would it be?
- Describe the perfect day.
- What's your favorite precipitation?
- What non-traditional jelly bean flavor would you like to see?
- Describe the grossest road-kill you've ever seen.
- If you had an unlimited supply of watermellons, what would you do with them?
- If you were hired to market one new use for watermellons, what would it be?
- What is the furthest you've ever traveled?
- If you were a super-hero, what non-traditional super-power would you have?
- What actor/actress would play you in the movie of your life?
- If you could meet any person, living or dead, who would it be?
- If you could replace any state bordering Pennsylvania, with a different state or country, which state would you replace, and, with which state or country?
- Other than Jesus, who is your greatest role model?
- Describe a new use for crackers.
